REFERENCE AND INFORMATION SERVICES
Whether you need a phone number, historical fact, or a good book to read, the Reference staff at the Knox County Public Library is trained to answer your questions and help you find the best available resources. The Library strives to meet the informational needs of the community through a variety of resources, including specialized reference books, census materials, Internet access, online databases, and interlibrary loan and informational referral services.
  
While we cannot give legal or medical advice, you can ask just about any factual question in person, by phone, or by email (sesmith@kcpl.lib.in.us). Reference services are available both in the Adult and Youth Services areas of the Library from....
  • 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Wednesday
  • 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday
  • 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays.

INSPIRE, the Indiana Virtual Library, is available for all Indiana residents and can be used at the library, at home, at school, at the office, or at any computer with a connection to the Internet. INSPIRE databases offer access to a collection of magazines, encyclopedias, newspapers and other resources to meet the information needs of Indiana residents.

Information available on INSPIRE includes:

2-1-1 SERVICE


2-1-1 service is now available for Knox County residents. 2-1-1 service helps to connect patrons with needs to human service agencies. People may call 2-1-1 if they need information on housing, employment, legal aid, financial aid, utilities, counseling and much more.
